ISSUE 06 | Let's feed your skin with what it craves

If your skin isn’t responding to your current routine, or you’re still experiencing dry skin / breakouts - OR you’ve started a whole new 12 step routine that you just cannot sustain, then let’s chat.

Less is more in our opinion

We truly believe less is more, and it goes hand in hand with science that the foundations of healthy skin start with hydration, collagen & elastin production, and a strong moisture barrier. You don’t need a million products to achieve that, you actually need less as your skin naturally produces the nutrients needed to sustain this synthesis.

Listen to your skin (and your gut)

When we start to disrupt our microbiome and natural skin cycle with too many products, that’s when our skin has a hot moment and is telling us to cool it down. Our skin will signal that it's not enjoying what you're putting on it (or feeding it through your gut - which is a whole another blog post). Listen to your skin! If you've been using a skincare routine and then a few weeks later, you start to breakout, that is your skin telling you that skincare isn't right for you. If you feel like you skin is still tight and uncomfortable with every cleanse, that you MUST run to put on moisturizer (only for it to still feel itchy and uncomfortable a few hours later) then your skin is signaling to you that it needs something to change.

It's like a turmeric latte - but for your skin cells

Coenzyme Q10 is the powerhouse nutrition (almost like the meal) for your cells to help support this process. As we age, our body slowly stops producing this antioxidant naturally, so we have made sure to highlight it in our Goldie Botanical Active Oil. Immensely pigmented (similar golden powder like turmeric) Goldie supports your skin, by feeding it up with a hearty meal to allow it to naturally repair and restore your collagen & elastin levels.

Goldie + Sienna = match made in heaven

Our favourite way to use Goldie is by mixing a few drops (or half a pump) into a pump of Sienna and applying it morning and night. A big glass of water and a nutrient dense meal is just what the doctor ordered for healthy skin. Why do we actually do this though? For two reasons:

  1. Sienna is a serum (water based) product, and Goldie is an oil based product. When you combine them they create a bi-phase (two phases) approach to skincare. This allows Sienna to 'piggyback' the essential antioxidants in Goldies lush formulation deeper into the skin, to layers it wouldn't normally reach on it's own.
  2. Secondly, it's like giving your skin a really delish lunch with a refreshing drink. The combination of hydration and nourishment (along with all the added benefits of the ingredients themselves) allows your skin to focus on repairing the moisture barrier and holding in all that goodness in the skin to metabolise.

If there is any product I recommend any of my clients to add to their skincare routine, it's Goldie Botanical Active Oil, but don't just take my word for it, try it yourself.
